The Nepean Creative Arts Centre has a new exibition called Home Sweet Home where printmakers interpret the saying home sweet home different ways through their art.
On display from now to Sept. 8, at the Ottawa-Gatineau Printmakers Gallery, Nepean Creative Arts Centre, 35 Stafford Rd.
Where I interpreted the phrase with the Saskatchewan landscapes and the memories of my family that lived there will always represent my home sweet home. The Prairie School house is place where my Grandma taught as a young lady. The Steer & Lasso is a tribute to my Grandpa and his prize winning Herefords. And the Pelicans returned every summer to Buffalo Pound where we would picnic and swim. My home sweet home was the place of the family farm, where we always returned to meet, to harvest, to celebrate, to mourn, to be family.
